About the Speakers
Married for 36 years with two adult children and four grandchildren, John and Karen Louis served in full-time Christian ministry around Southeast Asia for over three decades. During that time, in order to help their churches and serve the community, John became a Schema Therapist, completing his PhD in the UK (Clinical Psychology), and Karen a Solution Focused Therapist. With Karen being a native West Texan married to a Malaysian, they have been able to help married couples from many parts of the world. Their marriage program "I Choose Us" draws from the Scriptures, credible research, and the Louis' life experiences to build a strong case for the importance of having a healthy, vibrant marriage, as well as repairing and practicing forgiveness. It takes readers through the different phases of marriage and gives practical, biblical advice about how to meet each other's need for Love and Respect.

Friday, May 3, 2024 | 7-9:30pm | "Choose Love Connection"
Good, healthy marriages have far reaching consequences. Participants will get a new take on the benefits of a healthy marriage from Scripture and credible research, including the different phases of marriage and how to nurture the relationship after the initial infatuation phase. Even if mistakes have been made, this session will give insights and a foundation for a "reset".

Saturday, May 4, 2024 | 4-8pm | "Choose Love and Respect"
Love and Respect are meant for both partners and, according to the Scriptures, are not gender-based. Participants will be helped to see how well they fare meeting these two essential ingredients through the use of a validated marriage questionnaire developed by John and Karen Louis.
Ballroom Dancing & Dinner: Couples will learn how to waltz & salsa from professional dance instructors from the Arthur Murray Dance Studio, a candlelight dinner will follow.

Sunday, May 5, 2024 | 4-6pm | "Choose Repair and Reconnect"
How do we repair strained and fractured marriage relationships? Participants will learn how to effect proper "Repair" and "Reconnect" with one another by learning how to be Vulnerable and Forgive and build new healthy patterns that will meet each other's need for Love and Respect.
